The Role: Research & Knowledge Mobilization Associate

 

BoardWalk Group is looking for a Research & Knowledge Mobilization Associate to join our dynamic team. The Associate will support multiple client projects across diverse sectors, contributing to research, data analysis, knowledge mobilization, and evidence-based practice reviews. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical and research skills who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Conduct data collection and perform descriptive statistical analysis

  • Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative data collection tools (e.g., surveys, interview guides)

  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to generate insights

 

Literature Review and Environmental Scans

  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to support project objectives

  • Identify and evaluate best practices, guidelines, and the latest research evidence to inform projects

  • Support evidence-based practice reviews and standards development across multiple sectors

 

Presentation and Report Writing

  • Develop high-quality reports, presentations, and other knowledge products for internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop highly polished presentations and reports with strong visual appeal

  • Apply an eye for design to create engaging and impactful knowledge products

  • Ensure a professional and visually compelling look and feel for all deliverables

 

Knowledge Mobilization

  • Translate research findings into practical applications through knowledge mobilization and exchange activities

  • Write abstracts, summaries, and briefs for various audiences

  • Support with though leadership and white paper development

  • Engage with stakeholders to facilitate knowledge-sharing and dissemination activities

 

Project Coordination

  • Assist in project coordination, tracking, and reporting to ensure deliverables are met

  • Maintain detailed project plans to ensure alignment with project timelines

Skills and Qualifications


We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

 

Essential Skills:

 

  • 2-5+ years of experience in research, data analysis, or knowledge mobilization

  • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies

  • Experience conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, and best practice reviews

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Expertise in PowerPoint visualization, with the ability to create highly polished and visually engaging presentations

  • An eye for design, ensuring that reports, presentations, and knowledge products are aesthetically compelling and user-friendly

  • Experience with report writing and presentation development (Word, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset

 

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

 

  • Experience in consulting, project management, or a related field is an asset

  • Familiarity with health and social systems, including the social determinants of health

  • Training or experience in facilitation, design thinking, co-design, and/or stakeholder engagement

  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, online collaboration platforms (e.g., Miro, Wrike) and data visualization tools

 

Educational Background:

 

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as public health, social work, health policy, business administration, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is an asset but not required

 

Salary:

 

  • The salary range of this role is $55,000 to $75,000

 

Workplace Type:

 

  • The position is mostly remote, but also requires travel to client location

  • Ideal for the candidate to live within the Greater Toronto Area
