Job Description

BoardWalk Group is looking for an Consultant to join the team. The Consultant will support multiple client projects, which currently include community-based health and social service transformation initiatives for organizations across Canada in mental health, aging and social service sectors. 

As BoardWalk is a small startup, we are looking for someone who is the right fit to dive in! The Consultant may be invited to support on building the business and enabling client success.

Key Expectations

  • Manage client relationships within project environments

  • Provide expertise in our service lines on client engagements, including proposal writing and presentations

  • Develop high-quality project deliverables

  • Develop tailored approaches to project delivery to achieve engagement outcomes in a smooth and undisruptive manner

  • Leverage project management, continuous quality improvement, human-centered design, LEAN, change management, implementation science and other methodologies to achieve and support transformational change

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project planning, status reporting, tracking, and issue and risk management 

  • Carry out day-to-day activities to move projects and deliverables forward 

  • Conduct evidence reviews and environmental scans 

  • Prepare internal and client-facing presentations and reports 

  • Facilitate client engagement sessions (workshops, interviews, focus groups, etc.) 

  • Support administrative tasks as required (scheduling, activity tracking, meeting summaries, follow-up)  

  • Identify, communicate, and proactively manage risks in partnership with clients 

  • Communicate status updates and results in a concise and meaningful manner to BoardWalk leadership and clients 

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the seamless execution of project tasks and objectives 

Training, Experience and Skills

  • A degree, in health, business, public administration, or relevant professional experience 

  • Knowledge in the community health or social service sectors is an asset

  • 5+ years of demonstrated progressive and relevant experience in project management, continuous improvement or research

  • Knowledge of the social, health care or public sector 

  • Experience providing exceptional results to clients 

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills 

  • Flexibility in delivering client solutions 

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders 

  • Experience change management, quality improvement and/or evaluation 

  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research  

  • Ability to find the best approach or solution to highly diverse challenges 

  • Experience using research to make evidence-informed decisions 

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills 

  • Strong analytical, planning, conceptual and decision-making skills are required 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

Other Skills

  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be at asset.

  • Clinical expertise is an asset

  • Consulting experience would be considered an asset
